Vrbnik on the east side of the island is located on a cliff 50 meters above the sea level and overlooks Crikvenica and Novi Vinodolski. Like other island settlements with an old town, Vrbnik could boast about its stone walls and narrow winding streets, but here you can find the narrowest street in the world „Klančić“ – only 50 cm wide. However, Vrbnik is probably more famous for its field, where the autochthonous grape variety “žlahtina” grows. Vrbnik as a center of viticulture on the island of Krk is a perfect destination for all wine lovers, and especially for those who want to get away from the hustle of the city.
In Vrbnik and its surroundings there is a crystal clear sea and several beautiful pebble beaches. One of them is the beach Potovošće, recently ranked among the 50 most beautiful unknown Adriatic beaches by a famous Croatian weekly magazine.
Near Vrbnik is the village Risika, known for its beautiful sandy beach Sv. Marak.
